Cast Iron Air valves (IS:14845)
Cast Iron Air Valves, manufactured in accordance with IS:14845, are essential components for maintaining system efficiency and protecting pipelines from vacuum conditions, air locking, and surge pressures. These valves automatically release trapped air or admit air during filling, draining, and normal operation of water networks.
Types of Air Valves & Design Codes (IS:14845)
Single Orifice Air Valves (S1 / S2): Designed to release air pockets under operating pressure.
- S1:Conventional body design
- S2:Compact design for limited space installations
Double Orifice Air Valves (DS1 / DS2): Provide both small orifice and large orifice functionality to release air during operation and admit/release air during filling or draining.
- DS1: Full-body design with an integrated isolation spindle for on-site maintenance or shut-off
without system shutdown. - DS2: Full Body Design without isolation spindle for budget friendly installations.
Kinetic Air Valve (DK):
High-capacity valve for fast intake and exhaust of large air volumes during pipeline filling and draining, preventing vacuum formation and reducing surge pressure risk.
