Types of Manhole Covers as per IS:1726
1. Light Duty (LD):

- Nominal load: Upto 2.5 tonnes
2. Medium Duty (MD):
- Suitable for residential roads, light traffic
- Nominal load: Upto 10 tonnes
3. Heavy Duty (HD):
- For city roads, bus stops, industrial premises
- Nominal load: Upto 20 tonnes
Extra Heavy Duty (EHD):
- Designed for highways, ports, and airports
- Nominal load: Upto 35 tonnes
