Cast Iron Sluice Gates (Penstocks) are precision-engineered to control and isolate water flow in treatment plants, irrigation networks, stormwater drains, and reservoirs. Designed as per IS:3042 and IS:13349, these gates are ideal for both open channel flow and wall-mounted pressurized applications.
Types & Standards
- Single Faced Open Channel Gates – IS:3042
Designed for open-channel flow regulation, these gates are guided within vertical side frames and seat against the channel invert to stop or modulate gravity-fed water.- Mounting: Channel wall (embedded or surface)
- Sealing: Single face (typically bottom and sides)
- Applications: Sewage treatment plants, canals, and drainage channels
- Single Faced Wall / Thimble Mounted Gates – IS:13349
Used for vertical or inclined wall openings, these gates are mounted directly to concrete walls or via a thimble frame to handle hydrostatic pressure from one side.- Mounting: Wall-mounted or thimble-mounted
- Sealing: Single face (pressure-tight from one direction)
- Applications: Intake wells, pump houses, reservoirs, and submerged chambers
